CHAIN Combat Practice Tier List
Rank the blades you actually clash with, then pick a drill that matches your FPS.
This hub ranks the melee kit you rehearse in CHAIN Combat Practice and then take into CHAIN Survival. It is not a popularity contest. A weapon that looks cinematic on YouTube can still be D-tier in your hands if you play at 144 FPS on a laptop that hitchs every time CHAIN screams.
Split the work:
- Weapon tiers — damage, stamina tax, save mechanics, inventory slots.
- QTE difficulty — how hard each clash is to win on PC, mobile, and console.
Read both before you dump Survival points into X-Saw because a clip said it hits 27 on the special.
Current meta snapshot (August 2026)
| Rank | Tool | Why it sits here |
|---|---|---|
| S | Machete+ | Best block QTEs, stamina return, no “no clash” lockout like some specials |
| A | X-Saw | Highest burst, execution save at 50w gas, two-step QTE that punishes high FPS |
| A | Tomahawk | Move during special, stamina-friendly, lowest special QTE bar for many players |
| B | Machete | Teaching blade, block QTE, cheap, no gamepass |
| B | Broken Winchester 1897 | New heavy/QTE kit from the July 2026 drop; strong if you learned the bar |
| C | Combat Knife | Life insurance, not a duel weapon |
Enraged and Bloodmoon scramble every row. Specials that lunge (X-Saw, Tomahawk) get stuffed; CHAIN overpowers the player, deals huge damage, and ragdolls. Practice those specials in the trainer, then do not throw them the moment the mask grows a second arm. Details live on how to beat CHAIN.
How we rank for a practice wiki
CHAIN Combat Practice is a solo gym. The ranking question is “what should I drill tonight so Survival hurts less,” not “what wins a 50-player meme night.” That means:
- Transfer rate. Machete timings carry into Machete+ and into X-Saw M1s. Combat Knife M1s do not.
- QTE honesty. If a clash only works below 60 FPS, it loses ranks for uncapped PCs until you read FPS settings.
- Stamina math. Blade trading is a resource fight. Combat stamina is a separate bar from sprint stamina.
- Fail cost. Losing X-Saw’s two-step clash hurts more than failing a Machete block QTE. High fail cost drops a weapon for beginners even if the ceiling is S-tier.
Beginner path versus sweaty path
Beginners should live on Machete in the trainer until parries are automatic, then Tomahawk specials, then X-Saw. Sweaty players reverse it: cap FPS, warm up X-Saw, then Machete+ perfect clashes for stamina regen, then Winchester heavies if the patch is live. The practice routine writes that as a clock, not a vibe.
Mobile players should treat X-Saw as a rank lower than the table until they can hit the random key without a keyboard. Console players have the opposite problem: triggers and face buttons map cleanly, but the random letter prompts were designed for a left-hand WASD cluster. Use controls before you blame the tier list.
What this list is not
It is not a guns list. AK-47, Desert Eagle, M1911, and DB Shotgun matter in Survival, but they are not what CHAIN Combat Practice is for. It is not a spellbook or crucifix ranking. Those items close a night; they do not teach a clash. It is not a script ranking — that sits on the scripts hub.
When Winchester, a new QTE, or a recode build lands, we retune rows on patch notes first, then this hub. Early access means RealJMBlox can add “all QTEs” and then some, so a rank from March 2026 is already suspect.
Related drills
After you pick a row, open the matching weapon page: X-Saw, Tomahawk, Machete. Then fight the empty floor in the trainer until the prompt is boring. That is the entire point of a practice wiki.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What is the best weapon to practice first?
Machete. It is cheap in Survival, teaches parry timing, and feeds Machete+ later.
Is X-Saw overrated?
Its ceiling is huge and its QTE is FPS-sensitive. Rank it A until you can win both clash steps on command — see X-Saw QTE.
Why is Combat Knife so low?
It saves you from an execution. It does not win a duel. Keep it as insurance, not as your trainer main.
Does Enraged change the list?
Yes. Specials get stuffed. Switch to block/parry patterns from combat stamina.
