Getting Started with CHAIN Combat Practice

A first-session plan for the solo QTE trainer before you waste a Survival night.

Getting Started

CHAIN Combat Practice is how players talk about CHAIN Practice Simulator, the early-access Roblox gym by RealJMBlox. You walk into a one-player server and repeat the same QTE clashes that decide fights in CHAIN, the survival horror game from Yurixzaaa and Suppression Studios. This page is the first hour. It is not a lore recap and it is not a 50-player Survival lecture.

If you already die with style and just need one clash, skip to X-Saw QTE or combat stamina.

What you are installing into your hands

CHAIN’s melee kit uses two stamina pools. Sprint stamina gets you away from the chainsaw. Combat stamina pays for M1s, parries, and some blocks. Empty the combat bar and you stand there like a prop. QTEs sit on top: block clashes, special lunges, choke mashes. The trainer exists because you cannot learn a 200 ms window while also looting scrap in the dark.

Supported devices: PC, mobile, Xbox, PlayStation. Credits for CHAIN itself go to Yurixzaaa and her team. The simulator is a fan trainer, not an official Suppression mode.

Session 0 — before you swing

  1. Open the Roblox place. Favorites sit around 10k; visits are in the millions. Server size is 1. Nobody will steal your dummy.
  2. Read the in-game description. It warns that difficulty depends on FPS. Believe it. Set a cap using FPS settings before you rate the game “broken.”
  3. Bind keys from controls. On PC you need sprint (Shift for many clients), block, special / right-click, dodge (Q in Survival), and the E/R/T/F/G cluster for random prompts.
  4. Ignore codes. There is nothing to redeem. Ignore scripts until you understand the ban risk.

Session 1 — Machete only

Pick the Machete even if YouTube said X-Saw is cool. You are here to learn swing when CHAIN swings, not to play a cutscene.

  • M1 when the dummy is idle to feel the stamina drain.
  • M1 just before the dummy’s attack to feel a parry (no damage in, some damage out).
  • Block (F on PC for the machete family) to see whether this build of the trainer gives you a clash QTE.
  • Dodge if the prompt exists in your version. In Survival, a successful dodge on a dash can refill sprint stamina; do not import panic-Q into every swing.

Ten minutes. If you cannot parry yet, do not unlock another weapon. The tier list will still be there tomorrow.

Session 2 — one special

Choose Tomahawk if you like to strafe, X-Saw if you want the execution save later. Do not learn both specials in one night. Tomahawk lets you move during the charge; X-Saw locks you in place and then asks for two QTE steps. Details: Tomahawk, X-Saw.

Win the clash once slowly. Lose it on purpose once so you recognize the punish. Then run the timed sets on practice routine.

Session 3 — export to Survival

Only after a special feels slower than your pulse:

  • Join original CHAIN. Prefer a private server if you have one; public nights are full of people hugging the entity during your QTE.
  • Buy the weapon you already drilled, not the expensive one from the weapon tiers table.
  • Fight at night with the same FPS cap. If Enraged starts, do not lunge. Read how to beat CHAIN.

Common first-day mistakes

  • Uncapped FPS, then blaming “RNG keys.”
  • Equipping X-Saw while CHAIN is already on you (long draw animation).
  • Zig-zag sprinting. The AI tracks a straight line; extra strafes waste stamina.
  • Crafting Combat Knife and X-Saw thinking you get two saves. You do not; they overlap.
  • Watching a 4K 60 clip on a 240 Hz monitor and copying the speed.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is CHAIN Practice Simulator official?

No. RealJMBlox built a fan trainer. CHAIN itself is Yurixzaaa / Suppression Studios.

Can I play the trainer with friends?

The current simulator is a one-player server. Practice is solo. Survival is the group mode.

How long until I should try X-Saw?

After Machete parries are boring. The saw’s two-step clash is a separate skill — see X-Saw QTE.

Why does my clash feel faster than the video?

FPS. Cap around 60 with FPS settings and retry.

Does the trainer include Winchester?

Early access is still adding QTEs. If your build lacks it, use CHAIN private servers and watch patch notes.
