CHAIN Combat Practice Tomahawk Weapon Sheet

The special you can move through, if your ping is not a brick.

Tomahawk

Tomahawk is the special CHAIN Combat Practice players pick when X-Saw’s lock-in charge gives them panic. You lift the axe, lunge, and — if you connect — play a two-stage QTE: bury the head, then a flurry that speeds up while CHAIN blocks. Win or lose, you usually eat a long No Clash lock (~49 seconds in community notes). This sheet is the gym manual. Ranks live on weapon tiers.

Why it feels kinder

  • You can move during the special charge. X-Saw roots you. Tomahawk lets you correct spacing or peek a downed teammate.
  • QTE readability. Many players call it the lowest special-bar difficulty at 60 FPS. The accelerating hits are loud and countable.
  • Stamina. Heavies cost ~25% combat stamina at a full bar, ~45% when the bar is already red. Block (not a Machete-style block QTE) returns a lot of combat stamina if you stand a step in front of CHAIN, not inside the collision.

It is not a hug weapon. Blocking “just before” a hit does not start a clash the way Machete does.

Why it feels cruel

Ping. Notes from players and the fandom sheet: above ~200 ms the special is almost impossible to win. The trainer on a solo server helps, but it cannot shrink a bad route to Roblox. If you live far from the data center, main Machete+ trades and keep Tomahawk as a move tool, not a damage tool.

Failing the first QTE plays a nasty standoff: CHAIN toys with you, knees you, kicks you. Learn that animation in the gym so you do not waste a medkit in the dark thinking you can mash out.

Gym plan

  1. Warm parries on Machete so the combat bar is real to you (combat stamina).
  2. Tomahawk special at a capped 60 FPS (FPS settings).
  3. One special where you strafe during the charge — that is the whole point of this weapon.
  4. One heavy on a full bar, one heavy on red, feel the tax.
  5. Do not immediately chain into X-Saw special; No Clash will dummy you.

Combo note from the community: Tomahawk special into X-Saw special (or the reverse) can save a downed player if both QTEs win. Practice the idea, then only try it on a private Survival server. Public nights will grief the camera.

Inventory and pairing

Tomahawk does not eat three slots like X-Saw. That is the quiet reason it sits next to a vest and a medkit on real nights. If your gym brain always wants the saw on screen, you will drop the kit that actually keeps you alive. Practice the axe as a full loadout member, not as a clip factory: special for a downed teammate, M1 trades while gas is empty on the saw, block for stamina when you have space.

If ping is ugly, the pairing flips. Hide the special. Keep the movement. Read how to beat CHAIN before you throw a 200 ms lunge on a public night and screenshot the ragdoll.

Enraged

Same rule as the saw: the entity overpowers the lunge, dumps damage, ragdolls. Put the axe away and trade. How to beat CHAIN is the night version of that sentence.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Can I move during the Tomahawk special?

Yes, during the charge. Use it to reposition when sprint stamina is gone.

Why do I always lose the QTE on high ping?

Above ~200 ms the special window collapses. Trade with Machete instead.

Does Tomahawk have a block QTE?

No. Block is a spaced stamina tool, not a Machete clash.

Should beginners pick Tomahawk or X-Saw?

Tomahawk, unless you specifically need the saw’s execution save.
